#NewMusic: Kanye West – “Real Friends (ft/ Ty Dolla $ign)/No More Parties In LA (ft/ Kendrick Lamar)” + ‘SWISH’ Release Date

kanye-west-real-friends

Kanye West seems to be on a roll with this new music coming out! His wife and lowkey publicist Kim Kardashian West first took to Twitter last week on New Year’s Eve to announce her hubby was going to be dropping a new record, which turned out to be the much-talked about “Facts.” She did the same this week and low and behold, we have another new Kanye joint!

Mr. West has delivered a two-for-one special of sorts with this one. “Real Friends” finds Kanye back to his early career rap groove and flow talking about the ups and downs that comes with celebrity and how you can weed out who your true friends are, family included (as he states he had to pay $250k to a cousin that stole his laptop that had him sexing some women) with assistance from Ty Dolla $ign on the soulful hook.

Then the track segues into “No More Parties in LA,” produced by Madlib and features Kendrick Lamar. Over a sample of Ghostface Killah‘s “Mighty Healthy,” the father to newborn Saint West swears off partying while K-Dot has a different agenda in mind. Listen to the two tracks below.

This sounds like old school Kanye all the way with the samples! And as this is the second Friday so far this year that Kanye has dropped a new gem, he may be back to his G.O.O.D. Fridays grind again!

As for the album, it looks like we FINALLY have a concrete date from the man himself – SWISH will drop on February 11, 2016!

#NewMusic: Kanye West – “Facts”

Is Yeezy season back in full effect?

Kanye West might’ve let 2015 past by without releasing his long-awaited new album SWISH, instead opting to focus on becoming a father to he and Kim‘s new son Saint West, his growing Adidas sneaker line and running for president in 2020. But it looks Yeezus may be ready to bless us all with new music again!

Aside from releasing his Paul McCartney-featured “Only One” last New Year’s Eve and “All Day” (which is nominated for a GRAMMY at the 2016 ceremony) and a few collaborations this year with Rihanna and Big Sean, Kanye’s been quiet on the solo music tip. But tonight before we ring in the new year, Mr. West has dropped a new record called “Facts.”

Produced by every rapper’s new fave producer Metro Boomin and Southside, “Facts” takes a cue from Drake and Future’s new anthem “Jumpman.” In fact, Kanye defends his relationship with Adidas while throwing a shot at Nike and bringing Drizzy in the mix (remember Kanye and Nike had a messy split with back in 2013).

“If Nike ain’t have Drizzy man they would have nothing” raps Kanye on the track that samples the game Kingdom Hearts.

MUSIC VIDEO: BIG SEAN FT/ DRAKE & KANYE WEST – “BLESSINGS”

With his third album dropping last week and the song gaining heat, it was only right that Big Sean dropped the visual for his new single “Blessings” featuring Drake and Kanye West. The trio go waaaaaay up in the black-and-white imagery reminiscent of his new album cover, with the video being directed by Darren Craig of The Uprising Creative team.

And boy does Big Sean have a lot to be blessed for. Not only is he and Ariana Grande‘s relationship going strong, but he’s on track to have his first number one album on the Billboard 200 chart this week!

Dark Sky Paradise is now in stores and online via GOOD Music/Def Jam.

NEW MUSIC: TEYANA TAYLOR FT/ YO GOTTI & PUSHA T – “MAYBE”

It’s been a long road full of delays and pushbacks, but Teyana Taylor has FINALLY released her new single “Maybe” for the world to hear! The G.O.O.D. Music signee teams up with her label mate Pusha T and Yo Gotti for the track that finds the singer caught up in feelings for a situation she can’t leave from.

I can’t front, I had my reservations about the song before even listening to it, as we’ve been talking more about Teyana’s relationship with her ex and ex-best friend on FNL Radio as of late. But after listening to the single, she definitely won me over. Anything other than “Google Me” is a step up for sure LOL! But she has a winner with “Maybe” and hopefully G.O.O.D. and Kanye give it the promotional push it deserves.

She’ll be getting plenty of promo opportunity soon though. Teyana will be starring alongside Diggy Simmons in the upcoming BET scripted series The Start Up this fall.

PUSHA T ANNOUNCES WORLDWIDE TOUR DATES

Even though his solo debut album is critically-acclaimed but majorly slept on by the public because of low promo, but that isn’t stopping Pusha T from hitting the road soon.

Several of the stops to coincide with his opening slot on 2 Chainz‘s upcoming 2 Good 2 Be T.R.U. Tour, kicking off on February 4th in Boston at House of Blues. The “County of Pusha” collection will include T-shirts, hats, socks, bracelets, bandanas, iPhone cases, and shoe laces, and will be sold on tour and at Opening Ceremony stores in Los Angeles and New York.
