It’s almost that time when our favorite family in the White House will leave to make room for our next President. But, when you see President Obama‘s playlist he just revealed, it’ll make you miss this moment in history even more!

President Barack Obama started sharing his taste in music for as long back as 2008 during his days of running for his position, only for last August 2015 to be the cemented moment that his music playlist made it’s way online. Now, he’s keeping the tradition going by revealing his latest summer music playlist via the White House.

Our Commander-In-Chief took to Twitter on Thursday (8/11) to share both his daytime and evening tunes. During the day, you can catch the Prez listening to tracks by JAY Z, Wale, Gary Clark Jr., Common, Prince and even the Beach Boys. But when the sun goes down, his after dark playlist is just as lit, with songs by Janet Jackson, Chance the Rapper, Method Man & Mary J. Blige, Fiona Apple, and a little Floetry “Say Yes” (I’m sure that’s a fave between he and First Lady Michelle Obama!).

Check out President Obama’s lit playlist below – aka everyone’s iPhone shuffle goals!

#VIDEOPREMIERE: KENDRICK LAMAR – “ALRIGHT”

Kendrick Lamar has been on one big roll this 2015 thus far. From FINALLY releasing his major label sophomore album, getting engaged to his longtime girlfriend and, of course, his number one single with Taylor Swift on the remix to her new single “Bad Blood.” So to cap off the first half of his amazing year, K Dot just dropped the visual for his latest single “Alright.”

Fresh off his opening performance at the 2015 BET Awards, the black-and-white video directed by Colin Tilley is everything you would expect and more from a Kendrick video.

The video opens as he rides out with his TDE crew including ScHoolboy Q, Ab-Soul, and Jay Rock while spitting some new bars.

“Tell me who the bitch ni**a hatin’ on me? / Jumping on my dick, but this dick ain’t free / To Pimp a Butterfly another classic CD,” he raps while four policemen hold up the vehicle.

The video then moves on with Kendrick doing donuts through a parking lot in San Francisco while dancers perform on top of a cop car.

And from the page of former Missy Elliott videos, Kendrick also does his own stunts—gliding through the air, hanging upside down, and performing atop a street light above the streets of L.A. It’s the ending though that will be the power force of what this video is about.

The Pharrell-produced “Alright” is the latest lifted from To Pimp A Butterfly, which has gone on to sell over 600,000 units thus far. This video is THAT video and it’s been one of my favorite tracks from the album since day 1 so I was hype once I heard this got the single treatment.

#VIDEOPREMIERE: BRITNEY SPEARS & IGGY AZALEA – “PRETTY GIRLS”

It’s FINALLY here folks! After a couple of days delay, Britney Spears and Iggy Azalea have unleashed the video for their out-of-this-world collaboration, “Pretty Girls”!

The two blonde bombshells are bringing 88 back into 2015 with their summertime-ready video for their #TrapPop single produced by The Invisible Men! Directed by Cameron Duddy (who directed a handful of Bruno Mars videos including “Uptown Funk”) and Iggy herself, the video is based off the 80s cult classic Earth Girls Are Easy, seeing Iggy as the alien from a different planet and Britney dressing and styling the rapper to her liking. The girls then go on a full day adventure of cruising the streets of LA in a Jeep, making money shoot from an ATM machine at the car wash, hanging with the home girls, and parlaying at the club only to be taken back to outer space.

As for the dancing? Britney DELIVERS in this video with choreography handled by Fatima Robinson, who has worked her hip-hop skills famously with Aaliyah and more recently, Pharrell, Black Eyed Peas and Fifth Harmony. Check out that dance break down routine in the club and the attitude on B-Girl’s face! #DanceNey is BACK! And Britney is beautiful as hell in every shot in this video!

Overall, the video is full of 80s flash, 80s hair and fashion, vocal fry (y’all know like, totally, oh mah goooosssssh!), dancing, alien activity, hot girls, old Zach Morris phones turning into the new Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge (#GetThatPromo) and more importantly, the realness that summer is near!

This has to be one of Britney’s best video just because of the fun nature of it as well as the throwback feel, cementing her position of eye-catching videos since the beginning of her career (hell, even “Gimme More” is included). I will forever love her 2013 video for the inspirational/workout bop “Work Bitch!”

Brit and Iggy Iggs are bringing their “Pretty Girls” nature to the stage at this Sunday’s 2015 Billboard Music Awards live from Las Vegas on May 17th at 8PM ET on ABC, hosted by Ludacris and Chrissy Teigen. The single, which is the lead from Brit’s upcoming ninth studio album via RCA Records, is also now available on iTunes and doing the damn thing on radio already! #GetThatHit!

JURY FINDS THAT ROBIN THICKE, PHARRELL COPIED MARVIN GAYE FOR “BLURRED LINES”

It was the most-played and biggest selling song of 2013, netting 12 weeks at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 as the longest stay at the top of that year and selling over 7.3 million digital singles. Then in 2014, the song became the subject of a infringement lawsuit brought on by Marvin Gaye‘s family. Now, the jury has reached a decision – and they’ve sided with the family!

Robin Thicke and Pharrell Williams were told to pay $7.4 million by the jury to Marvin Gaye’s children – Nona, Frankie and Marvin Gaye III – on the basis that “Blurred Lines” sounded like a direct-copy of their late father’s “Got To Give It Up.”

“Right now, I feel free,” Nona said outside court. “Free from … Pharrell Williams and Robin Thicke’s chains and what they tried to keep on us and the lies that were told.” 😒 #GirlBye

Anyways, there were a lot of revelations brought up during the trial. It was revealed that Robin actually didn’t have a part in the writing process, with Pharrell being the mastermind behind the hit track. The blue-eyed R&B singer told jurors he didn’t write a line, in which the producer testified he crafted it in about an hour in mid-2012.

Williams testified that Gaye’s music was part of the soundtrack of his youth. But the seven-time Grammy winner said he didn’t use any of it to create “Blurred Lines.”

One person that got off without paying a dime: T.I.! While he’s featured on the song, his rap was added later.

Williams and Thicke are “undoubtedly disappointed,” said their lead attorney, Howard King.

“They’re unwavering in their absolute conviction that they wrote this song independently,” he said.

Thicke and Williams earned more than $7 million apiece on the song, according to testimony.

King has said a decision in favor of Gaye’s heirs could have an effect on musicians who try to emulate an era or another artist’s sound.

#YEARINREVIEW: TOP ALBUMS OF 2014

TDR2014ALBUMS

2014 has been one interesting year – not only news wise, but musically as well. We’ve seen some artists shoot to the top while some once at the top faltered into the world of flopdome. However, that didn’t discredit the albums from being great pieces of work and to close out the year, here are my picks for the top albums of 2014 (in no particular order). Read more to check out the list!
